AIA Philadelphia
2002 AIA Philadelphia Awards For Design Excellence

One Philadelphia firm was honored with the prestigious Gold Award, and seven projects by local firms won Honor Awards at the 2002 AIA Philadelphia Awards for Design Excellence celebration on October 29 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. Six other projects were honored with Merit Awards. Other award recipients honored at the ceremony include David A. Wallace, EFAIA, AICP, PP, PhD, who was presented with the John Harbeson Award for lifetime achievement of the highest standards of professionalism, accomplishment and regard for the development of his younger colleagues. The Community Design Collaborative of AIA Philadelphia presented its “Community Design Award” to Chris Pugliese, ASLA; Robert Shoaff, Associate AIA; and Taylor Boyd. The guest speaker at the ceremony was Robert Campbell, FAIA, Pulitzer-Prize-winning architecture critic for the Boston Globe and a columnist for Architectural Record magazine.
